About this fabric
Batiste is a fine 90 gsm batiste in 100% cotton, woven as a sheer plain weave with a smooth, closely set construction and a faint natural sheen. It is light and airy with a fluid drape and a crisp yet soft hand; being semi-transparent and non-stretch, it favours volume, gathers and layering rather than close fit. These qualities make it a classic choice for blouses, shirting, summer dresses, linings, christening and heirloom pieces and light home-decor accents. Offered at 140 cm width, machine washable at 30C and finishing with a medium iron, it is a breathable, naturally elegant cotton base that delivers consistent everyday quality for repeat production.
